In 1957 the following official announcement was created: “The World Health Organization has reported that the utilization of fluoridated drinking water to prevent tooth decay is safe, effective and practical. Used with Forever Aloe-Jojoba Shampoo and Conditioning Rinse, Aloe Pro-Set will more shield hair from split ends and other damage. Within the United States 3 million folks in more than 1600 communities are drinking fluori-dated water. Sixteen other countries have begun similar professional-grams.”3Science, September 20, 1957. In July, 1960 the following newspaper item appeared under the caption, “No New Cavities”:
Forest, Miss. A six year study of the results of fluori-dating the town water here revealed an incredible re-duction in tooth decay among kids, the Mississippi State Board of Health has reported. Men will love the recent, clean feel of Gentlemen Pride, and ladies will love its distinctive, masculine fragrance! Tests were created when the fluoridation program was started in 1952 and again in 1958. Only kids who had maintained a con-tinuous residence in Forest and drank fluoridated water were tested. In 1952 12.vi percent of the primary graders were cavity free; by 1958, the figure was 94 percent.
